The shift we made in June to simplify our menu was actually first dreamed up last fall, when we knew we needed a little more balance between work and… not work. That shift was intended for both Curt and I here at the bakery, both still working full time.
Since his fall and injury in March, I’ve been carrying the weight of both of us working full time, and often not doing a very good job.
When we found out he needed a second surgery a few weeks ago, the recovery time frame was reset, and his return to working in the bakery was pushed into 2027.
In full transparency, I am burning out.
Our desire however, is not a crash and burn scenario but rather a transition into something more manageable.
Therefore, as of September 1st, we are changing our capacity to weddings only; with the adjunct of a la carte menus when we are able as well as when it is not peak wedding season.
As capacity allows, we will also be attending local farmer’s markets and pop up events, and will always keep you posted of these opportunities.
In a nutshell;
~ The bakery is not closing.
~ Our wedding services are not changing and no currently booked weddings will be affected.
~ You can always reserve items when we have an a la carte menu [posted via Facebook], but will no longer be able to place orders ahead of time.
~ Our upcoming holiday season will look very different this year, with no menu for preorders. We will keep you posted as the holiday season approaches.
~ We will always post our updates and offerings on our Facebook page as well as our website.
~ We appreciate how much our community has supported us, helped us grow and truly enjoyed what we create.
Thank you for understanding how difficult this decision was, after being a custom order bakery for nearly 20 years. Again, we have such deep gratitude for your loyalty and patronage.
Jen & Curt
